The Journey Begins...

Hi Ladies!
Just wanted to let you all know that I love you all and am praying for you this week. I wanted to create a blog that would be available to us all to post encouragement, humor, and just keep us connected throughout our busy weeks until we meet up again in the Lord's house. I can't wait to see what God has in store for each of us...
Let the JOURNEY begin!
Love you all,
Kim

  1. What a great idea. God is at work in the lives of each one of you ... I will count it a joy to hear your stories, your praises, your petitions, your questions, your opportunities. I pray you will use this blog as a place to share your heart, share one another's burdens, challenge your sisters in Christ, and most of all, bring the Lord Jesus much honor and glory.

To call our class, and this Christian life, a JOURNEY is quite accurate. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says "...we walk by faith, not be sight." WE WALK. In order to reach your destination, you have to take the first step. Some paths are harder to walk down than others, some require much diligence, some steps are taken in the dark, still many are surrounded by light ... yet we can rely on all of them to fall under the watchful eye of our Abba, Father. This walk is by FAITH. The peace of God will lead us. The grace of God will sustain us. We can trust Him ... every step of the way. "Man's steps are ordained by the Lord ..." Follow close. He'll never lead you astray.

"Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."

THE JOY IS IN THE JOURNEY!

    Love you.
    Beth

  2. Thank you my sisters, it is an honor and pure joy to bare and carry your burdens. I feel so emotional right now. I feel we have just birth a new baby. What a awesome idea! I cant wait to see what God has in store for us. "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed".

  6. GIC was awesome last night! God was definately there. I have to share something that He taught me and that I plan on using to teach my children. Mikayla didn't know about the kids singing with the choir until this past Sunday. She was EXTREMELY upset b/c she loooooves to do stuff like that. We talked about it and I explained that, of course, she would not be able to participate in everything. That she basically had to "get over it" and support her friends. After a day or so she was okay with that. Donna was going to try to work it out so she could participate but she wasn't sure. So, a long story short, God just worked it out. She was able to sing, they had an extra shirt and she had a great time. The moral is that she had gotten over being angry and upset. She was willing to sit on the sidelines to support those girls that were up there that she loves so dearly. God honored her faithfulness to her friends and her willingness to forgive. What an awesome story to share with others about obedience!

  7. Have you ever stopped to think about what Jesus did when He came to us ... to live among us ... to participate in life with us? To know that He left His home in glory ... the only perfect place ... to become a man. To know that He knew what was in store ... to know that He knew He would be rejected. He didn't run. He didn't hide. I would have. I can't comprehend the love He has for us. For me. For you. Who am I that He is mindful of me? The One Who created all things ... still He knows the number of hairs on my head. And He likes me. He thinks about me all the time. I find myself thinking about Him too. I want to know Him. Don't you? Can I speak as Paul did? "Whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord ... that I may KNOW HIM and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; in order that I many attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus." Phil. 3:7-12

Paul clearly teaches us that knowing Christ has a lot to do with losing. Not just losing for losing sake ... but losing what we cannot keep to gain what we cannot lose. To know HIM ... in the POWER of His resurrection. That one makes me stop and think some more. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the power we have access to every moment of every day.

When compared to knowing Him ... we can't lose.
